"Are you ready to go back to Pirate Titanic?"

The Pirate Titanic

Updated February 22, 1999!

Disclaimer
Pirate Titanic was filmed solely for Entertainment. I mimicked scenes from the movie and used the soundtrack without permission. I will not make any money off of Pirate Titanic, and it is free to distribute - I ask that you keep the credits intact, as even though it is a spoof of Titanic and the soundtrack was used without permission, a lot of people spent a lot of time creating it. They should be credited for their efforts.
Story
Follow the adventure of the pirates as the grandest ship ever built sets sail. Life is grand on the Playmobile© vessel at first, but when the Pirate Titanic strikes a chair, destiny steps in. Watch as Jack and Rose meet, fall in love, then fight for their lives on the doomed liner. Are you ready to go back to Pirate Titanic?

The digital formats are finally up!
I will refine them as time goes on because I am
learning this digital stuff as I go. I will also add
the end credits as they appear in the original format.

    Making of Pictures!

  • Filming complete! (39k) - Scott Lorah, Christina Humphries, and myself at end of filming.
  • Creating the sinking (36k) - Scott Lorah and myself, setting up the carpet to make the Pirate Titanic sink.
  • Another sinking shot (30k) Using Christina's table with the center leaf removed, we could cut the carpet and let the ship rest in the hole. Everywhere around the ship still appeared solid.
  • Camera trickery (29k) Filming the infamous Pirate falling, hitting the railing, and flipping into the water. Rather than elevate the ship for this, we kept it level and just raised the carpet! Note the Highlighted cirle - that is the falling Pirate.
  • Going down with the ship (19k) - We had to film the scene where the Captain dies. This is after the carpet has crashed through the windows.

    Movie Stats

    Project Name: Pirate Titanic
    Date - Design/film/edit: June 8, 1998 -- July 5, 1998
Soundtrack: Titanic Soundtrack, select songs from it...
Crew: A lot of people helped make this happen: Animators: Scott Lorah, Jeff Ballentine, Christina Humprhies. Thanks to Mo, Christina, Nikki, Kelly, and Kevin for providing props and insight. Voices: Brenda Ames, Chris Ames, Jeff Ballentine, Jonathon Hastings, Nick Legg, Byran Morrow
    Budget: $57.00
Plot: You've seen the movie. This is a trailer to the Pirate version of it all. I mimic many of the famous scenes in the movie, just downsized a bit for the Pirates. Includes sinking the ship into the floor also.
Special Effects/Minatures: In addition to simple animation and building small props / sets for the Pirates, the largest effect is the sinking of the ship. I purchased carpet and elevated it. By cutting the carpet and positioning the ship, it appeara to 'sink' into the floor. The effect was better than I ever imagined.
