The Journey - 1

Telgar says to Grynh "I like this ship already.  Do you think you could
show me what's pushing this thing.  I'd like to check it out if it's not a
problem.  Also, where can I get something to drink?  I'm really thirsty!
Kah'Liss you coming?"
The Yazirian seems eager to show off the Engineering area of the Serena
Dawn. "Certainly," he says. "I was going to head that way anyway, you're
most welcome to join me...Drinks can be found in the common room." Grynh
stands. "Come on down, I'll show you how she ticks."
"See you in a few days," chides Stu to the Yazirian. "He loves talking
about his engines." Grynh simply growls with a smirk, pointing a finger
towards Stu, but not looking his way. He heads to the door.
Kah'liss chitters in appreciation at the effectiveness of the crew.  He
looks over at Telgar, "Perhaps after I complete a few needs that should be
attended to, Telgar."
"Well I'll find you later... and don't get into any trouble!" Telgar
concludes as he follows Grynh from the bridge into Engineering.
Brenon unbuckles himself from his seat. Speaking to the Serena Dawn
Crew, "If none of you mind, I think I'm gonna take a peek at our supplies.
I'd hate to spend the next 5....excuse me, 4 days in FTL only to find out
someone forgot the water or food rations. So if you'll excuse me I think
I'll head down and check our cache".
Balou shrugs. "Sure, they triple checked that stuff, but I'm sure you'll
feel better knowing yourself. Naydash, how 'bout you take them down and
assist if they need anything." Naydish nods and rises from her station,
ready to head to the 2nd level.
Kah'liss bows in gratitude, "Thank you.  As a scientist, these
details... are the heart of my worries.  It will make my trip much more
pleasant, just knowing it." He glances to Brenon. "I too had desired to look
on the supplies.  You would not mind if I join you, would you?"
Brenon completely ignores Kah'liss; not looking or speaking to the Vrusk. His hand subconsciously reaching to the patch on his sleeve.
Zhirrzh sees Brenon touch the patch and turns to face Kah'liss, his face
expressionless. He looks back and forth between them for a moment, takes a
half-step closer to Brenon, and stops. His stance set so that he looks like
he could either back Brenon up in a fight, or start a fight with Brenon. He
seems to hesitate for a moment and then says, "I believe I'll make a claim
to a room and wander the ship a bit."
Balou nods, watching the scenerio between Brenon and Kah'liss with
silent interest. He then glances to Zhirrzh and speaks. "First rooms
immediately to your right and left are all ours, you can take the others.
Save for Engineering and your equipment, she's pretty empty right now. We'll
probably start off a game of Moccam, or perhaps some 5 disc, in a few hours
in the common room. Might want to join us."
Zhirrzh nods to the crew and turns to face Azad. "Perhaps you'd like to
join me? I didn't get to speak with you last night at the lounge and this
might be a good time." Azad shrugs. "Sure, I've got some good stories about
this crew, we pretty much closed the Stargaze down, you know..."
Balou grins. "I've as many to tell of you, my friend. Watch where your
tounge creeps; it may not like it there. You AND your Dralasite friend."
Spuroke stretches his long neck to peer at the captain. "I had a good
time. Seemed towards night end you really enjoyed my company, too." He
bellows a laugh and is joined by the remaining crew. "Yes, your humor did
tend to be much more enjoyable once we moved to the 'Pale Shockwaves'."
Azad and Spurok shrug with a grin and exit the bridge with Zhirrzh.
Kah'liss eyes Brenon, "Perhaps we could solve your ... dispute by
remaining at opposite ends of the area, since it appears that my presence so
offends you.   I do have as much of a right to examine the cargo area as you
do, and will not acquiesce on this."
Brenon says nothing and looks to Naydish, waiting for her to lead the
way. She stands awkwardly a moment, eyes passing over Kah'liss, then Brenon.
The silence in the bridge last for several uncomfortable moments. She
glances quickly at the other members of the team, then finally to Balou
before shrugging. "Okay. This way." She too leaves the bridge, heading for
the elevators.
Lyrium watches the buzz with interest and leans easily against the metal
wall. She regards the behavior of the others with interest, yet without
expression. Once everyone has left, she glances to Balou and Stu and allows
her lips to lift in a slight smile. "Is there a time I might meet with the
Captain for a few words?" she pauses for a moment and then adds with a
glance towards the rest of the ship and then returning her eyes the crew
members, "It could be important later."
Balou listens to Lyrium, then glances to the door the last group
departed through. Stu watches the captain silently. "Yes," Balou says. "Yes,
I think that may be a good idea. Unfortunately I need to log a few things
right now, and check with Stu on his calculations, but perhaps in an hour or
so? If you'd like to speak on a more private level, we could meet in my
quarters. I'll steal a few chairs and we can discuss anything you deem
appropriate. Otherwise, perhaps the Common room. Of course, I can seal the
Common room should you feel more comfortable there."
Lyrium nods and smiles more broadly, "Let me know if I can do anything
for you while we are underway. Perhaps some polite games might be in order.
I gamble, but after the bet I put on this ship, Im not up for much. Still it
would relieve boredom and tension."
Balou grins, the playful smile shown at the Stargaze resurfacing. "Oh,
we typically...indulge in such diversities. You may've been on other
freighters before, there are only 4 of us on this trip, but we try to make
the best of it. Work hard play hard kinda thing, ya know?"
Lyrium nods, turns to walk out and glances back, slender hands brushing
stray hairs out of her eyes and pushing them behind her ears, "If there
should be any.. trouble.. please let me know. There are some soothing herbs
that can be added to the food that may calm hostile emotions of any race."
Balou's smile drops and he shrugs. "Keep some of that handy. You may
need to use it. And quarter ration spirits for those two," he smirks, half
serious.
Her smile fades and she sighs softly and heads off to find a room.
Balou glances to Stu. The two seem in silent conversation for a few
moments, then the captain stands and approaches the Navigator's station.
"Okay, I'll log this in...what coordinates are you working on there?"

Referee's Note:

Everything's flowing along...keep going at it. Telgar will be busy at least
an hour with Grynh, longer unless he can pry himself away from it. Azad and
Spuroke will spend a few minutes with Zhirrzh straightening out rooms and
talking briefly....but one of them will comment about the tour in
Engineering that is going on and suggest joining it. With or without
Zhirrzh, they will excuse themselves kindly and rush to Engineering for the
tour.
