Getting Ready to Leave;  January 29, 1999

Stu quickly accepts the Stimdose hypos from Kah'liss and commences
to revive Balou and Nayden. Telgar has shaken the cobwebs out now, and
     has recovered...
Kah'liss raises an eye ridge, in a mixture of surprise and admiration.  Of course, he doesn't think it will work, but ..
He continues to work on Telgar and then has a thought.  In a low whisper so as not to be picked up by Zhirrzh's headset, he says, "Perhaps those outfits of the pirates could be of use.  Could someone start stipping them?"
Zhirrzh's eyes widen in shock when he hears Kah'liss whisper. Zhirrzh shakes his head in a very definite no, indicating that is definitely not what he has in mind.

As Kah'liss and Zhirrzh listen to the headsets, Grynh speaks over your
chronos...."Ahhh, whatever you did, it made those fighters turn right back
around. They're headed our way again.."
Balou shakes the cobwebs from his head as Stu revives him with a hypo of
Stimdose. He rushes to Nayden to revive her as well. He really wishes he
knew what was going on in those headsets!
Kah'liss snaps the microphone off the end of his headsets, leaving only the earpieces left.  "It would seem that our plan to divert the enemy has failed.  We may wish to consider the use of other prearranged measures in which to defeat the oncoming forces.  I'm sorry I could do no better Zhirzzh."
Zhirrzh, deciding that one more shot can't hurt things, attempts one last bluff.
"What the hell? Control, this is Slag. The deck three team has been killed. The chatter you've been hearing is from captured headsets. We've managed to kill three and capture two on deck 1. The deck 2 team hasn't reported any contact. We have control of the bridge and I would like to send the two prisoners over for interrogation."
There is a response from the headsets, another test? "Well, good...Where should we take them, Slag?"

"We don't have to take them anywhere." Zhirrzh replies. "I'll send them over via shuttle and you can perform interrogation there."
"Think we should throw them in the Edestekai pit?"
Zhirrzh laughs. "Well, if you're going to be smug about it, then I guess you aren't interested in why they're out here." Zhirrzh voice loses its amused tone, and become more serious. "As much as it pains me, they fought like crazed Sathar. Some of them are definately skilled in combat and I don't think an off-course freighter would have this many enforcers as passengers."
Zhirrzh covers his mike and gets Stu's attention. "Can you program one of those shuttles' auto-pilot?" he whispers.
Stu looks to Zhirrzh as he wakes Nayden up with a hypo of Stimdose. "Sure, Grynh and get a direct link to the shuttle.....if they've got security on it, it may take a while...and uh, remember, we've got other things out there that may require our more immediate attention..."
"Then the sooner you get Nayden and Balou up and going the better. But if we can make use of those shuttles, we may be able to draw the fighters away from us." Zhirrzh activates his chronocom. "Grynh, can you determine if the boarding shuttles have security so that you can tie into them? We may have a use for them."
The Engineer answers, "They've just raised shields. I think it's round two --"
Kahliss shakes his head and decides to return to his Duties.  "Agrahless dar us."  He looks at Telgar, "There was an attempt by our party to subterfuge the pirate's reactions toward us that would could reduce their readiness level so that we might escape or destroy them in return.  It would appear that our subterfuge has failed."  He then whispers again, "
Agrahless war amt us."

Grynh continues his response to Zhirrzh.    "Roger that," he begins. Nayden and Balou rise, shaking what remaining cobwebs they have out of their heads. The Captain addresses the group. "Grynh will help where he can. We're done here. If you are leaving, Godspeed, and we'll be sure we don't leave you down there. You've got a beacon on the shuttle and we'll find you. We will, or someone from Truane's Star will." Balou beckons his crew to the bridge. "Looks like we've another little fight and a way out here." He nods to the dead pirate at the airlock door. "That one there had an albedo screen. One of you may want to grab it."
As the crew begins to rush down the hall to tend to their ship, Balou stops again. "If it happens that you leave now, again, good luck. We will see you again." The three then turn and rush to the bridge.
Grynh comes in on your chronos. "They do have security on their shuttles. It's not often that any shuttle can be controlled by any other ship. I can defeat it, but it'll take a few minutes....Those fighters are getting close and I think they mean business."
Telgar recovers from his unconsciousness, looking around, a bit disoriented. He speaks quickly, "I'm starting to piece together what's happening.  I admit I don't know all the details, but I do believe that we need to get this ship out of here quickly.  How soon until we have power to move this thing?  Does anyone think we stand a chance to beat our adversaries planet side?  If so, I say we make a dash for it as soon as possible.  Last I remember, cruisers can't fly low.
Please hurry it up Kah'Liss, I need to get moving.  And would somebody fill me in as quickly as possible as to our situation, so I can think of something to do!?"

Raleigh props himself up against the corridor wall.  Although the pain
was severe, he noticed that his wounds were professionally treated and
bandaged.  Overhearing the conversation of the others, Raleigh slowly
rises to his feet using the wall as support.

He pats Kahliss on the shoulder as he staggers by...
"Thanks friend, I owe you one."
OOC:  Im in, either way.  Looks like we have a few decoys to use so
maybe a shot for planetside would be a good idea now?

Oh, and Jeff, I grab a new beltpack from the closet for my laser
pistol and will grab an Auto Rifle with ammo if we decide to break for
the planet.

Zhirrzh continues his conversation with the bridge. "Understood. Can you start up the elevators again and how long would it take you to program the shuttles once you got past security?" Zhirrzh turns to Kah'liss. "Can you finish Telgar's treatment on the way down to the planet?"
Grynh responds, "When I break security it'll be a matter of moments before I can do anything with the shuttles. What do you have in mind?... Elevators are back on."
The rest of the crew enters the bridge, and Balou starts barking commands; status checks, shields, lasers, engines, etc.

Zhirrzh bends over the fallen pirate and removes the albedo screen, checking for any other interesting items at the same time.
"The idea I have is pretty basic," Zhirrzh replys as he searches the dead pirate. "Program the shuttles with a collision course for the cruiser and let them go at full burn. At the minimum, the cruiser has to divert its firepower to destroy the shuttles and possibly make a course correction before they collide. However, if we're lucky, they'll also call in the fighters to assist, leaving us a clean opening for the planet, and you a chance to break orbit and a go to FTL."
Zhirrzh takes a breath, then adds. "If you're needed in other areas, remember this was only an idea I had when I was trying to bluff. I thought if I could convince them that the shuttles were bringing prisoners over, we'd have a better chance to cause more damage. It's up to you whether you think you'll be able to put any effort into it."

Balou chimes over the chronos. "Ahh, I like that idea, Zhirrzh," he
begins. Grynh agrees to do what he can with the shuttles. "In the
meanwhile," the captain continues, I suggest you pack up and get ready to
roll."

OOC
Zhirrzh, you unbuckle the Albedo screen from the dead human. Taking a quick
scan of the pile of bodies around, you notice that each has the same tatoo
on their arms - a red devil surrounded by a circle of stars. As far as
equipment goes, there are 2 laser pistols, an Electrostunner, and a Needler
pistol nearby. 1 attacker is wearing a power pack, and one is wearing a
power belt.

As far as the weapons near the rest of the group, this is what's scattered
around you:

2 Laser pistols
Sonic Stunner
1 is wearing a power pack
1 is wearing a power belt

  "Thank you Captain."
Zhirrzh grabs Lyrium's attention and points to a couple of dead pirates'
power pack and power belt. "Would you mind getting those and making sure
they're powered? And, if I remember right, there's a power generator in the
technician room. If anyone has anything they need to recharge, don't forget
about it."
Tossing the albedo screen to Raleigh, Zhirrzh grins and says, "No offense
friend, but you probably need this more than I do at the moment."
Raleigh catches the Albedo suit that Zhirrzh tosses him and grins.
"Gosh Zhirrzh, I didnt know you cared?"

He straps this to his belt(pr wherever it goes) and makes his way to
the shuttle.  I think I will drop the laser pistol and rifle and go
with a Gyrojet pistol and Auto rifle(w/ grenade launcher attachment if
possible.)  I may be a Techex but I am not a dumb one!!!

Also, Ill rathole the weapons stores on the third deck for extra ammo
and supplies and then strap myself in tighter than an "Alabama tick"
into that shuttle and await blastoff.
Brenon, seeing the plans laid out before him, gathers his thoughts for a moment and says, "Alright, while Gryhn's doing his deed I'm gonna go prep our shuttle for flight..... I don't imagine I need to tell you guys to hurry..." It was a rhetorical question, but nonetheless he needed to say it for the record and to place a sense of urgency in the minds of the others. Brenon retrieved his grenades, gave a quick look to Zhirrzh and trodded off to the Shuttle, quickly, but carefully.
Zhirrzh watches Brenon leave and nods his head when Brenon glances his way. He listens to
Raleigh's comment and couldn't resist himself.
"I didn't do that so that it would go to your head," Zhirrzh replies. "I did it so you wouldn't
/lose/ your head."
Zhirrzh picks up the electro stunner off the floor. "This might be useful," Zhirrzh mumbles,
deep in thought. He sticks around to escort the rest of the group to the shuttle bay, when ready...
