The Boarding
=================
Lyrium rises slowly,
trying to feel her way around. She pauses to
listen to the disembodied voice on her chrono.
Nodding to herself as
the yellow lights finally click on, she smiles
faintly, without
pleasure as the captain speaks, when he finishes
she glances around.
"Well, thats it then.." she states looking
for her blaster, "We stay
and fight."
Telgar gets his bearings
back and hears the voice on his chrono.
Thinking over his choices carefully and hearing
Lyrium speak, he says
"Well, I'm going to stay here with the Dawn
also. At the very least
we should take out some of these guys before
going planetside so we'll
have less to contend with should they follow.
And if worse comes to
worse, we can use the lifeboats, but I don't
feel like running away...
been chased all over this galaxy way too many
times." Telgar doesn't
seem to look for a response to his comments,
but rather, looks lost in
some private thoughts. His fingers fidget
a little on his gun.
Zhirrzh nods his head
in agreement. "I'd much rather blast out in
the shuttle, but I have to agree with Lyrium
and Telgar. The shuttle
is just too big of a target and too much slower
than the fighters.
We'd never make planetfall and find cover
before they blew us out of
the sky. If you're not armed, I'd suggest
getting a weapon or three
before the fighting begins." He quickly surveys
the room, looking for
the best way to set up a defense and activates
his chrono. "Zhirrzh to
Bridge. Any idea how many party crashers we
can expect?"
Balou answers after
a moment. "Depends on how thick they want to
pack them. Three shuttles, I'd say at least
3 each, 4 maybe. These
aren't big shuttles. There are also two fighters
left. If we have to
blow 'er we'll fire the lifeboats. Grynnh
is getting our lasers ready
for another few shots....Oh, and I hope I
do not need say this, but no
P.G.S. weapons in the fight."
Raleigh frowns and
announces aloud, "...what the hell are we
supposed to use man, harsh language?!!"
With a tired sigh,
Raleigh slings his rifle and pulls a knife and
glances around the dim hold. "Ok, so we stay.
They are coming in in
three seperate areas, whats the plan?
If we do stand and fight, I say
we set up the old knee high phalanx, back
lighting and turn off the
lights. Hit em with doze grenades after
the first wave hits and mow
down the rest. I really dont think we
have enough people to cover
three areas though. Hey Zhirrzh, where were
you planning on setting up
again?"
Kah'liss is good at
many things, but actually being /in/ the combat
zone is not one of them. He remains
pretty frozen in his spot, one
hand slowly undoing the dead man's switch
as the other fingers the gun
he picked up earlier. He sorta misses
the rest of the actions in the
area ... only catching the reference to the
soon to follow boarding.
Balou booms in on
your chronos, talking rapidly, urgency in his
voice. "We are going to kill power to the
elevator - you will have to
use the hatches to traverse the decks. That
will make it slow going
for them. So if you are planning on being
on any other deck, get there
in the next minute or climb through the hatches.
It's going to be a
bitch for them to get to the bridge; our last
stand will be there and
if you want to take off, let us know and if
we are able we will open
the cargo door for you."
A moment later, Stu chimes
in on your chrono. "The shuttles are
about to dock. It will take them a few minutes
to break the locks, but
after that they're in. Uh, let us know where
you are at so we don't
start blasting any hatch that opens up. We'll
have our hands full -
me, Balou, and Naydash will be the guns up
here - Grynnh will stay in
the bridge trying to restore power to this
baby. Let him know if you
want the doors open."
Another brief pause, and
Balou speaks again. "Good luck to you."
The Cargo hold then falls eerily silent. The
shuttles are almost here.

Referee's Note:
This will be the last turn to finalize any
battle plan. Currently,
everyone is in the Cargo hold. Since you've
all agreed to continue a 1
week's turn, we'll hold to that. It's Friday
- by next Saturday the
turn will be out...unless everyone is still
animately talking over
plans. IC your team still has several minutes
to talk.
COMBAT
If it leads to the seemingly inevitable combat,
a few things you
should know:
Turns are 6 seconds a piece. We will NOT continue
back and forth over
a 6 second interval; instead, tell me your
battle plan for the area
you are in, what weapons you will use, and
what may trigger a time
when I will interrupt the combat for your
next response.
