When a Mad Scientist's evil plot to create Superhuman henchmen begins to unfold, the Metro City police are called in to try and save the day. The Silion pulse that creates the mad scientist's evil creatures is only one terrible obstacle they must overcome. For, beknownst to none, as the Silion pulses travel through space and into outer solar systems, they begin disrupting the operations of the Octopus Men and Women from the Center of the Galaxy.. Enraged that these primitive Earth people have the audacity to send Silion emissions so blatently and on unauthorized frequencies, the alien ships plot course to Earth. Why, too do aliens terrorize Metro City? They Came for the Silion.

The project is not a spoof of the classic B movie (i.e. Ed Wood's Plan 9 from Outer Space). Rather, it is a tribute. It was a lazy midnight when I (the producer) was watching Plan 9 for the umpteenth time. As I groaned and laughed at the movie, I heard myself comment "I could make something like this." - so I did. I wrote the story in true B movie style; it is difficult to actually spoof the B movie, as the original B movie was filled with bad acting, bad plot, and bad directing. How can that be 'spoofed'? As we delved into the project, we realized the B movie idea was developing a life of its own. Four actors/actresses moved away before completing their scenes (Ed Wood, eat your heart out). Because of this, we had to patch scenes together or use stand-ins. It's funny, in filming this project, we understand all of the reasons for the flaws of the classic B movie - we have experienced it first hand!!

They Came for the Silion was filmed with a very eclectic cast and crew. Most of the actors and actresses were performing on camera for the first time. Some had theatre experience, while others had been in previous student films. Everyone performed beyond expectations and helped make a fitting tribute to those B movie directors of old.
